We are a district that follows after God earnestly, builds up His Church lovingly, and seeks the lost diligently
Recent WVDC Activities
Much of the web information we have for the month of February is a reflection of the recently concluded WVDC District Convention. This annual event is a culmination of a year-long service of every pastor to his congregation and a celebration of fellowship unto God with fellow ministers.
More About Western Visayas District Council
Written herein is a brief history of how WVDC came into being…
The ministry of the Assemblies of God in Antique was pioneered by Rev. Crispulo Garsulao in March 1928. Rev. Garsulao was a civil engineer sent to the USA by the Province of Antique to pursue his studied in the field. But while in USA, he got saved and studied at Glad Tidings Bible Institute in California, USA. He came home to the Philippines bringing the Gospel, with the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon him, and established the work in Villar, Sibalom, Antique.
In 1931, Brother Garsulao opened a short term Bible School in the town of Sibalom with nine (9) students (2) boys and 7 girls), seven of whom, Rafael Garsulao, Quirina Garsulao, Pelagia Garsulao, Adela Duran, Lucia Catidas, Trinidad Sebua and Illiminada Cepeda finished their studies. After graduation, they opened extension work in Cadajug, Lawa-an ( the place where the first pioneering convention in 1932 was held), in Cadolonan, San Remegio, Antique. The school did not continue because in 1933, Rev. Garsulao went to be with the Lord.
